It took about 20 minutes of research to find what I think is a major problem with OUR government. We have all heard companies tout there combined years of experience. They add up the years of service for their top employees and advertise those combined years of expertise. That's great, we all want someone with vast experience doing work for us. We want the best people doing the best job when we are paying our hard earned money for their service. That, however, is not the way it goes in Washington.  There are 100 senators currently doing nothing in Washington.  Out of those 100 so called public servants there are 27 of them that have a combined total of 781 years in the senate.  The oldest one was first elected in 1959.  The problems we have today have been caused by the incompetence of the idiots we have sent to Washington to supposedly do the bidding of the people. They represent themselves. They do whatever they want and then blame it on the other party or the president. The senate is the most powerful part of the government. They pad their pockets, they bring home the pork and they have the shortest work year of any American. They have the best health care, the best retirement, the best bennies and a job that holds them accountable to no one.

I once asked my niece, who was a lawyer, if I could sue the governor of my state. I explained that he had broken a verbal contract. He was asking for my vote and in return for that vote he made several promises. He did this in public and on TV so there was no question as to the validity of the promises made. She explained to me that the basis of a verbal contract is the " Reasonable expectation of Fulfillment".  She went on to explain that any judge in any court would admit that all politicians lie and therefore there is no reasonable expectation of fulfillment. They can not be held to their campaign promises. Think about that. If you lie to congress you will go to jail. If congress lies to you that's considered business as usual. Who answers to whom?. How do we hold our elected officials accountable?. 


Don't you think its time to clean house?  Don't you think its time for some new blood? I don't believe our founding fathers meant for the senate to become a career. We need to turn out the vote. Most importantly  tho, we need to turn out the incumbents.
